Bossa Nova
From pain to painting, art helps us begin anew.
Inspired by Getz & Gilberto's 1963 album and the album's cover painting by Olga Albizu, paintings were created with vibrant colors reflecting the birth era of Bossa Nova. With each painting named after my favorite song, the paintings evoke the spirit of summer, jazz music, sidewalk cafés, and my zest for life.
The opening features a pop up café with live music by Cool Lane and live painting by Jum. Coffee from Lone Light Coffee and light refreshments by local chefs were served while audiences were lounging on fun furniture from Pigment. The event benefits Friends of Nelson with its mission of opposing Dominion's proposed pipeline.
